Vyve Broadband Announces Launch of 1 Gigabit-per-second Broadband Service in Shawnee, Oklahoma

‘Vyve Gig’ Affirms Its Commitment to Broadband Adoption in All Markets

Vyve Broadband’s mission is to provide rural communities with world-class broadband Internet service that levels the playing field. Today, Vyve has taken the next step in that mission with the launch of 1 Gigabit-per-second Internet service to customers in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

The local Vyve team recently completed successful testing of 1 Gig service, and it is now available to local residents and businesses. The boost to 1 Gig service increases Vyve’s fastest Internet speeds by more than nine times.

“We are excited to add Shawnee, our largest market, to our growing list of 1 Gig markets,” said Jeffrey DeMond, chief executive officer for Vyve Broadband. “’Vyve Gig’ will be a key product for certain business and residential customers who have unique needs, such as people who work from home or those using graphics-heavy gaming and visual design software. These folks will have all the bandwidth they need and more.”

As online speed demand continues to increase year over year, ‘Vyve Gig’ will provide users the ability to keep pace. Residents with multiple connected devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, TVs and gaming systems will be able to run their devices concurrently without interruption.

“While we recognize that 1 Gig is probably more speed than most customers need at this moment, it’s clear that the online technology, information and entertainment landscape is evolving on an almost daily basis. What’s incredibly fast today will be the norm tomorrow,” DeMond says. “Vyve wants to build the network now that our customers will want and demand in the future. We’re committed to long-term relationships with our customers, and part of that commitment is looking not only at their current needs, but what their needs will be several years down the road.”

Vyve encourages customers who are interested in ‘Vyve Gig’ service to call 1-855-FOR-VYVE.

Vyve’s Christmas Card Art Contest Spreads Holiday Cheer Throughout All Vyve Communities

Eleven-Year Old’s Design Chosen As Official Vyve Christmas Card From Over 800 Entries

Vyve’s Christmas Card Art Contest, which won a Beacon Award for community engagement in its initial year in 2015, was even more successful this Christmas season, receiving over 800 design entries from all nine Vyve service area states.

Eleven-year old Alicia Jimenez from McGehee Elementary in McGehee, AR had the winning design that became Vyve’s official Christmas Card distributed to over 200,000 Vyve households throughout the country. Jimenez won an iPad Mini for herself, $200 in art supplies for her school, and an all school cookies and cocoa party, where all of McGehee turned out to celebrate her win.

The award-winning community relations campaign, having just completed its second year, is far and away the best, and certainly most popular brand integration initiative in company history, but it has become much more than that.

“Certainly from an integrated branding perspective it has been hugely successful,” said Jeffrey DeMond, chief executive officer for Vyve Broadband. “But beyond the marketing aspects, as the campaign has grown organically from company-to-community and back, it has shown how deeply we are engaged with our communities, and how much we care about our communities. At the end of the day, it makes everyone in our company and our communities feel good.”

The contest is simple. Kids 3-12 years old who live in a Vyve market are eligible to design a card of original art that best exemplifies “The Spirit of Christmas” to them. It is heavily promoted to schools, churches, libraries, chambers and Mayor’s offices through Vyve public relations, community relations, social media, digital media and online channels.

Jimenez’s winning design featured a pair of jolly snowman sending season’s greetings, along with falling snow and the Christmas Star. Her design was sent to Hallmark Business Connections who produced Vyve’s official 2016 Christmas Card, now featured prominently online, and on mantels around the country.

The cookies and hot cocoa announcement party was attended by McGehee Mayor Jeff Owyoung, State Representative Mark McElroy, McGehee Elementary Principal Twilla Hardin, McGehee School District Superintendent Thomas Gathen, McGehee Judge Jack May, McGehee art teacher Jamie Sims, and almost 700 McGehee elementary students.

“We continue to be touched and amazed at the great success and goodwill this contest brings to us, and our communities,” said DeMond. “The Spirit of Christmas is alive in all of us.”

Vyve Teams With McGehee Community To Generate Record Crowds, Record Fun At 2016 Owlfest!

The 10th Annual Owlfest was the biggest and best yet, and Vyve Broadband was happy to join in and be a part of the event’s success.

As a Platinum Sponsor, and Official Communications Provider of Owlfest, Vyve was excited to see the incredible turnout, and how the friendly McGehee community totally embraced this event.

It’s because of the donations from sponsors like Vyve that we’re able to invest in activities and events that make Owlfest such a fun, family-oriented, and successful weekend for the McGehee community,” said Mayor Jeff Owyoung. “We appreciate Vyve’s support and presence at Owlfest – and, the free WiFi and TV service for the Razorback game were certainly enjoyed by all.”

Since launching its full suite of communication services this summer, this is the first real chance Vyve has had to interact with the McGehee community, and introduce their local team and join in on some fun in McGehee.

“We are sort of the new guys in town, but this community has welcomed us with open arms,” said Vyve Broadband CEO Jeffrey S. DeMond. “The people of McGehee are fantastic, and were even coming by our booth thanking us for providing FREE WiFi and HD TV. What a great community. We are extremely proud to be a part of it.”

In addition to providing the free services, Vyve also sponsored a field goal kicking contest in the rain and mini football giveaways on Homecoming night, participated in the 5K, and collaborated with Mayor Owyoung to sponsor all day raffle prize giveaways throughout Owlfest Saturday.

“Our number one goal is to be the best community partner we can be, and we’re thrilled to have done our part to make this year’s Owlfest such a tremendous success,” added DeMond. “We can’t wait for next year!”
