Vyve Broadband is excited to announce an agreement to acquire Community Cable & Broadband (CCB), headquartered in Skiatook, Oklahoma. This tuck-in acquisition will help enhance and expand on Vyve’s significant presence in Oklahoma and further its mission of providing high-speed internet, television, and voice services to both residential and business customers in rural communities and continue bridging the digital divide across our 16 states.

Community Cable & Broadband began in 1979 as Community Cablevision Company and has worked to serve eight communities in the area. Dennis Soule, the founder of CCB, stated, “It’s an exciting time for the Community Cable & Broadband communities. I know Vyve will continue to build on my vision of providing quality broadband services in the area.

Once the acquisition is finalized, Vyve will upgrade the network to deliver Vyve Gig Internet speeds and offer award-winning mesh Wifi services. “With Vyve’s resources and expertise, the acquired communities can look forward to enhanced services and continued improvements in broadband connectivity. SHAWNEE, OK (April 20, 2023) – Vyve Broadband is devastated to share that our offices and network has been significantly impacted by the tornado in Shawnee, OK.

The tornado that swept through Shawnee, OK, caused widespread destruction, including damage to Vyve Broadband’s offices and network. The commercial power damage caused by the tornado has resulted in service disruptions for customers in the affected areas. Vyve Broadband’s team is actively working to assess the damage and restore services as quickly and safely as possible. Andy Parrott, President & COO of Vyve Broadband, shared this message, “Our hearts go out to the community of Shawnee as they recover from the devastating tornado that struck last night. We are committed to supporting our customers and working diligently to restore internet services as quickly as possible, providing connectivity to help rebuild and connect communities during this challenging time.”

Vyve Broadband was recently awarded three grants from the 2022 Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program (NBBP) to launch Fiber Internet in Archer, Chapman and Tarnov, Nebraska. The Nebraska Legislature created the NBBP in 2021 to facilitate and fund broadband development in unserved and underserved areas of Nebraska. The funds will help support the launch and ongoing support of affordable and reliable fiber-to-the-home Internet with symmetrical speeds starting at 105 Mbps, going all the way up to 1 Gig.

Vyve is excited to support Governor Jim Pillen’s recent creation of an official office to oversee broadband expansion in Nebraska. Vyve Broadband Service Interruptions In Marble Falls Area 150 150 Vyve Broadband

MARBLE FALLS – December 9, 2022 – Vyve Broadband systems in Marble Falls, Ballinger, Burnet, Cottonwood Shores, Granite Shoals, Horseshoe Bay, Kingsland, Stephenville & Winters, TX, had service interruptions that started around 1:50 PM on Thursday, December 8, 2022. Vyve’s third-party backhaul provider, Fiberlight, experienced two different fiber cuts along their redundant and diverse network paths on the western route in Springtown, TX, and the eastern route near Houston, TX. The redundancy is designed to failover in a disruption from one route to the other. Fiberlights’ NOC (Network Operation Center) reported the disruption to Vyve’s NOC, and a remedy was started ASAP.

Vyve’s team drove the routes to detect the cuts and provide assistance. Vyve’s engineers also configured alternate solutions to provide restoration options and deployed a solution after four hours that allowed Vyve to restore service to the fiber-based business customers in the Marble Falls area. By 6:00 PM, Vyve restored approximately 4000 residential and commercial business cable modem customers in the same area.

Multiple Fiberlight restoration technicians arrived at the Springtown location around 6:30 PM. They uncovered that an underground construction crew had severed their underground fiber optic lines in two places about 500′ apart. The Fiberlight cables were located and flagged to prevent this sort of incident. Fiberlight restoration crews dug up both cut locations and began fusion splicing at both cut locations.

Fiberlight restoration crews arrived at the site of the Houston route cut at 9:35 PM and began restoration activity.

At 10:30 PM, Vyve’s service began to be restored and there was full recovery by 11:23 PM. Vyve has made significant investments in our network, and we invest heavily to provide redundant and diverse paths to major data centers. The likelihood of separate disruptions in two locations along diverse routes is extremely rare. However, we have experienced this twice in Marble Falls within the past year. As a result, Vyve will invest in a 3rd redundant and diverse circuit to Marble Falls. We are committed to being our communities’ most reliable internet service provider.
